In October 2025, the Crop Sciences Graduate Student Organization (CSGO) hosted the Science & Communication Series with the support of the Institute for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access (IDEA), and the Department of Crop Sciences. CSGO organized a set of presentations and discussions focused on how to share scientific knowledge with diverse audiences. The series brought together students, researchers, extension experts, and professional science communicators to examine how communication practices can extend the reach and impact of scientific work. Across the five sessions, registration ranged from 34 to 55 participants, reflecting strong engagement throughout the program
Across multiple sessions, participants explored different approaches to presenting research, from translating complex findings for non-specialist audiences to tailoring messages for industry partners, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Throughout the series, the discussions emphasized clarity, inclusivity, and adaptability as essential elements of effective scientific communication.
The CSGO extends its thanks to all participants and speakers whose engagement and insights made this event truly meaningful.
